Operating and Service Manual HP 438A Power Meter SERIAL NUMBERS Attached to the rear panel of the instrument is a serial number plate The serial number is in the form OOOOAOOOOO and OOOOUOOOOO The first four digits and the letter are the serial number prefix The last five digits are the suffix The prefix is the same for identical instruments it changes only when a configuration change is made to the instrument The suffix however is assigned sequentially and is different for each instrument This manual applies to instruments with serial numbers prefixed 3008A or 30171 and above For additional important information about serial numbers see Instruments Covered By This Manual in Chapter 1 This manual does not contain any backdating information If ...
